The Ibadan Day which is an annual event of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ibadan Branch during the Annual General Conference was held on 30th August, 2023 at C’est La Vie, Games Village, Abuja.
The event organized by the AGC Planning Committee of the Ibadan Bar headed by Mutalubi Ojo Adebayo SAN had Legal Practitioners of Ibadan extraction, friends of Ibadan Bar and other dignitaries in attendance.
At the opening remarks, the Chairman of Ibadan Bar, Mrs. Folasade Aladeniyi showered encomiums on members for attending in large numbers and also praised the football team of the Bar using their Captain Ayobami Amire Esq. as a point of contact for putting their best in all their matches played during the AGC, while Provost of the Bar, Temim Kadir Esq who represented the Bar in the Table Tennis competition was also applauded for representing the Bar well.
The Hon. Minister of Power, Abdulwaheed Adebayo Adelabu OFR who also graced the Ibadan Day as a friend of the Bar and a Minister appointed from Oyo State felicitated with Ibadan Bar for the success of the NBA-AGC and the Ibadan Day celebration.
The Honourable Minister reeled out some of the strategies the Ministry under his watch have mapped out to ensure a more viable and sustainable generation, transmission and distribution of power supply in Nigeria. He then called on Lawyers to be partners in progress to assist the Oyo State House of Assembly in seeing to the success of the State Electricity Law which has reached an advanced stage. He said that the power sector will receive tremendous improvements, and encourage all the stakeholders to join hands with him to achieve success.
The Ibadan Day was graced with eminent members of the Branch such as Chief Niyi Akintola SAN (Patron of the Bar), Mr. Oladipo Olasope SAN, Mrs. Funmi Quadri SAN, Aare Abiola Olagunju SAN, Mr. Seun Abimbola SAN, Mrs. Funmi Roberts and Mr. Kolawole Esan among other notable members of the Bar who were in attendance.
