NBA Ibadan Chairman Appreciates Everyone for the Success of the Branch’s 70th Anniversary Celebration

The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ibadan Branch, Mr. Ibrahim Lawal, Esq. has issued a statement appreciating various persons who supported the branch in different capacities in making the just-concluded 70th Anniversary Celebration of the Branch a success.

70TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS OF THE NBA, IBADAN, BRANCH: A NOTE OF APPRECIATION 

It is with profound humility that I write to appreciate the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, ably represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief Bayo Lawal, the Chief Judge and all other judges of the Oyo State judiciary, the President of the Customary Court of Appeal of Oyo State, the President of the Customary Court of Appeal  of Oyo State, Magistrates and Presidents of Grade A Magistrate Court, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice oyo state , our Patrons especially the Attorney General of the Federstion, Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi SAN, Learned Silks, Senior colleagues and colleagues of the Premier Bar, Ibadan.

I also thank, profusely, the Chairman of the opening ceremony, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON, Rtd, the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, ably represented by Justice L.A. Ganiyu of the Court of Appeal, our Keynote Speaker and former President of the NBA, a most distinguished luminary, Chief Wole Olanipekun, CFR, SAN, who delivered a most incisive and impactful address, and other invited guests from across Nigeria, who attended the most memorable 70 Anniversay celebrations.

Let me thank, specially, all the members of the 70th Anniversary Committee, led by the dutiful and energetic duo, Asiwaju Mutalubi Ojo Adebayo, SAN, and Musibau Adetunbi, SAN, for their dedication and high sense of duty throughout the period of the celebrations. The members of the Executive Committee express their deepest regard for the uncommon commitment exhibited in ensuring the huge success achieved.

We thank all our members who donated, generously, to the coffers of the Ibadan Bar for the 70th Anniversary. An especial note must be made of generous donors who are not members of the Bar. May the Almighty continue to replenish your pockets.

We are happy with the feedbacks received on virtually all programmes and organisation of social events during the period of the celebrations. It must, however, be stated that the Executive Committee note, with dismay, complaints on the exclusion of three tables from service during the dinner. This incident is highly regretted. Consequently, the Social Secretary has been directed to ensure that all those affected should get their refunds forthwith. I tender my unreserved apologies, personally, for the inadequacies.

The turnout in large numbers added glamour and grandeur to the event. The Bar appreciates this deeply.
